As in previous years, a group of Esperanto speakers will be volunteering at the Roskilde Festival.
The Danish Young Esperantists Organisation is organising a free meet-up during the Roskilde Festival, the biggest rock festival in northern Europe. We’re inviting 35 esperantists to a party with 175 music groups playing.
There will be 4 days of pre-festival activities for those involved — discussions, games, getting to know each other, and some work too. DEJO promises: if we accept you, you’ll leave us with a smile on your face, a full stomach, and more money in your pocket than when you arrived!
Dates
The festival runs from 29th June to 7th July 2014 (with pre- and post-festival days in Copenhagen too).
Responsibilities
Everyone will work a total of 24 hours at the DEJO booth, in three 8-hour periods. The work will consist of:
- returning deposits paid for cups and beer cans
- cleaning around the booth
- miscellaneous other tasks
Accommodation
Free of charge, in the festival grounds, under canvas. DEJO has several tents which can be borrowed, but if you want to sleep alone, bring your own tent.
Food
Free vegetarian food is available at the DEJO booth. Other food is also available at the festival.
Place
The festival takes place outside Roskilde itself, which is 35km west of Copenhagen. Travel is easy by train, or hitchhiking.
